Therapeutic Day School

Innovations Academy Therapeutic Day School is approved by the Illinois State Board of Education and offers two separate therapeutic programs. Our programs include an Elementary and Middle School Program for students in grades 3 through 8 and a High School and Vocational Program or students in grades 9 through 12. Students working  on transitional or self-sufficiency plans can stay at Innovations beyond 12th grade.

Innovations Academy educates children ages 8 through 21 who struggle with the following disabilities:

    • Emotional difficulties with moderate to severe mental illness
    • Intellectual Disability
    • Autism Spectrum Disorder
    • Multiple disabilities or Other Health Impairment (OHI)
    • Traumatic Brain Injury
    • Specific Leaning Disabilities

Innovations Programming includes the following:

    • Common core standards-based coursework
    • Individual and group counseling
    • Psychoeducational and recreational groups
    • Art therapy including visual arts classes
    • Speech-language and occupational therapy
    • Physical Education classes
    • Special recreational sports league
    • Music therapy including music education classes
    • Vocational Programming

Students’ home school districts typically refer them to Innovations Academy. We would love to meet students and families who are interested in enrolling at Innovations Academy.
