Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System (SBHS) has been providing mental health treatment to the Chicagoland community and the state of Illinois since 1991. We are dedicated to offering services that provide HOPE and meet the ever-changing emotional and behavioral healthcare needs of children, adolescents, young adults and their families. We have the unique designation of being the first free-standing child, adolescent and young adult behavioral healthcare facility in the State of Illinois. Our focus on child, adolescent and adult mental healthcare allows us to provide a full continuum of care, including:
Treatment Philosophy
Treatment is individualized and must provide individuals and families with a sense of HOPE. Our team approach fosters HOPE by strengthening the individual’s social skills and interpersonal relationships. We develop a clear treatment and transitional plan for our consumers using existing emotional, behavioral and social resources in conjunction with those resources deemed healthy and supportive at home, school, and within the community. Behavioral management techniques along with choices in programming and therapeutic tools are key treatment components encouraging feelings of personal empowerment and responsibility. At SBHS, we look at the whole person, including family, unique life situations, and personal motivation towards hopeful and positive change.
