Outpatient Care

Outpatient Services

Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System Outpatient Services provide services to children, adolescents, and families who are experiencing mild to moderate difficulty in coping with stressful situations on a daily basis. The goal of the SBHS Outpatient Services is to identify and build upon the individual’s strengths and to assist them in maintaining an optimal level of productivity at home, school and within their community.

Our programs provide the following:

  • Structure and education to help youth and their families manage difficult behaviors
  • Encouragement to learn alternative ways to respond and interact within their home, school, and community environments
  • A setting of trust and respect allowing coordination of all the individuals involved with the youth to support their treatment success
  • Groups provided within a safe, structured and nurturing environment that allows clients to connect with others who are managing similar issues

Within the SBHS continuum of care, the Outpatient Services provides individual and family therapy, psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and group therapy.

Our multi-disciplinary team collaborates to provide comprehensive treatment and we partner with our community to provide innovative treatment for our clients. We offer therapeutic groups through community schools and communicate with other healthcare providers to optimize treatment for the individual client. Bilingual, Spanish speaking therapists are available for individual and family counseling and psychiatric services. Interpretative services are available for those that are hearing impaired or speak languages other than English or Spanish.
